#byog2019 just got wrapped up with the ratings finalized. And Timeless Space made it to the top. I could feel inspirations from Johnathan Pope's Return to the Obra Dinn while it felt like a good blend between a space exploration and combat game considering the limitation of time for the jam. These are some other games that were pretty unique and interesting: Times of Truth & Justice which is played on Excel is pure innovation mixed with RPG elements. Barely a Ninja with a color swapping jump mechanic seemed like a cool puzzle platformer. Riot Survivor is a survival game with Super Hot looking visuals and a simple objective.
And just as we take a moment to blink after BYOG, the Global Game Jam #GGJ20 opens its registrations! And it's on the 31st Dec - 2nd Jan 2020. Never too late to participate in a game jam I say. And it's the best time as Ludum Dare wont be around till April 2020.
Coming back to the elephant in the room, the Indian Game Development Conference #igdc is on 22nd and 23rd of November. Grab your tickets as early as possible. Let me know in the comments if you're coming too...
